Savoring Summer Bliss at the Terra Vite Winery!

On the North Fork of Long Island, where I'm currently visiting friends, warm summer Sundays possess a distinct charm. The long, sun-filled days we are experiencing right now encourage relaxation and leisure. Pair this atmosphere with a beautiful local vineyard, outstanding wines, and soothing music, and you have the perfect formula for a memorable day, much like my experience at the picturesque Terra Vite Winery and Vineyard where, savoring wine and soaking in the positive vibes sets the tone for summer bliss!

Nestled in a stunning location, the 2-acre Terra Vite vineyard provides more than a typical winery visit; it’s a charming retreat from everyday life. On this Sunday (June 29th, 2025) the vineyard was bustling with passionate wine enthusiasts, keen to explore its remarkable offerings while enjoying the enchanting music of the duo Vinny and Lexi amidst the lush green surroundings.

The Vineyard Experience

As we walked from the parking area towards Terra Vite, we were welcomed by rows of vibrant green vines. Their leaves shimmering under the summer sun, and their fragrance filling the air, crafting an atmosphere abundant in tranquility and joy.

The vineyard's vines are situated behind the winery's tasting room, and I learned that they are hand-planted and meticulously cared for. The vineyard mainly features Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay plants.

The winery's atmosphere is designed for enjoyment, welcoming both novice wine drinkers and seasoned connoisseurs. Whether you are sampling a crisp Sauvignon Blanc noted for its refreshing acidity or indulging in a rich Merlot with velvety notes of dark berries, every moment is steeped in a passion for quality.

With the heat of the day upon us, my friend and I quickly passed the shop area and gravitated towards the bar that was filled with glasses and a variety of chilled white or rosé wines that were bound to tickle the winery's guests' tastebuds with an explosion of flavors reminiscent of sun-drenched orchards, with notes of fresh fruits and subtle flowers.

The team at Terra Vite was incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable, eager to guide us through the tasting menu and suggest excellent pairings to enhance our experience. However, since we had already visited a brewery earlier in the day, my friend decided to stick with a summer ale.

Although I was tempted to try one of the winery's flights, I opted for their 2024 white Merlot, appreciating its delicate aroma of white peach and a subtle hint of citrus zest. This was followed by a glass of the delightful 2021 Mercato, an herbaceous red fruit table wine that truly hit the spot!

The Music Duo: Vinny & Lexi

Under the clear blue sky, the calming melody of Lexi's guitar and Vinny's singing filled the air. Together, they offered a diverse selection of songs designed to complement the relaxed atmosphere of Terra Vite, enhancing the overall ambiance.

Taste Buds on a Journey

The highlight of any visit to Terra Vite is undoubtedly the wine. With signature varieties crafted to suit every palate, this winery excels in offering something special.

For those looking to elevate their tasting adventure, Terra Vite offers wine flights that allow you to sample various selections in one sitting: Something I'm looking forward doing on my next visit together with one of their artisanal cheese platters filled with locally sourced cheeses, fresh fruit and nuts!

Another beverage that caught my eye was their seemingly popular Limoncello Spritz that I watched being expertly made at the bar by one of the staff members. This drink features House-made lemon-infused simple syrup, Montauk Distilling Co. Vodka, San Pellegrino Limonata and Club Soda.
